“I cannot stand this!” This is what the man at the front of the class said as he got up from his seat. He was wearing a royal blue t-shirt, jeans, and white Nike sneakers with red laces. This type of outfit is typically reserved for school, but today’s attire was anything but traditional. His amethyst upper body gleamed under the fluorescent lighting in the lecture hall as he stretched his arms above his head and reached for some invisible finish line that had no end. Today, he was not going to be quiet and patient like his fellow students. Today, he was going to rebel. And this man was no ordinary student. He was the class clown. The rule breaker. The class clown. The person who purposefully made everyone laugh during lectures. And this student was just one of many other students in the class who were also adamant about their non-compliant ways. They were tired of their conservative boring uniforms that added no flare to their routines. They were disappointed that the only patterns they could wear where found on the fabrics of their shirts, skirts, vests, pants, and ties. They hated how long it took to get ready each day, having to go through this whole routine before they could even get out the door. But most importantly… They hated how conformist it all made them appear! But there was no way these students would ever voice these complaints aloud. That would be too embarrassing. Not only would they be laughed at, humiliated, or insulted, but their parents would no doubt blame then for “making them soft.” For the more traditional students of the school, this irked them even more because their clothes were not boring enough to defy this new trend. Perhaps they could have drawn some more attention to themselves by wearing something rebellious like baseball hats with wings or bandanas around their necks. But this was not their style. And so, they wore their boring conservative uniforms to class everyday with no complaint. Unfortunately for them, they were not always in the lecture hall. They were also in the cafeteria when the day’s lunch orders were being ordered. As orders are being called out one by one, teachers checked each student’s nametag before ordering their food. So if the man at the front of the class expressed his dislike for what he was wearing today, he would have to keep his complaints to himself because it would be quite rude to complain about his outfit when there were many other students who did not feel as he did. It would be completely inappropriate and disrespectful . cfa1e77820
